Life Mastery (Health comes first, wealth comes next)

First, I learnt engineering. Then I learnt personal finance. Finally, I learnt general economics. Soon, I uncovered the formula for the Chemical X. Because every single day was always saved by The Powerpuff Girls, as long as there are enough sugar, spice and everything nice along the way in life. Feel free to READ ON as there are VALUEABLE INSIGHTS. As this is a dedicated post to share my journey walking towards success, at least that's what I feel right now inside me...  On engineering, I learnt to look at flowcharts, diagrams and networks. To understand the complexities to deal with the limited resources life has. Just ask any engineer with years of experience around, we all know exactly what we need or needs to get done at the end of the day. We plan ahead. Social, fitness, hobby, learning, work, relationships or even life in general. I find a lot balance applying resources (time & energy) management through engineering knowledge.  On personal finance, I learnt about ca...

Quantum of the Seas in the midst of covid review

Just had a wonderful 5 Day 4 Nights experience in Quantum of the Seas with Royal Caribbean cruise from 21 Oct 2021 to 25 Oct 2021. Although there were covid social distancing restrictions, it also was a less crowded ship than expected. The customer service was excellent as there were many staff to attend to the needs of fewer people. Activities were lesser than expected as I think it was the covid period and some activities were cancelled. However, there were still sufficient activities to play and relax with, throughout all 4 nights. I was entertained by the musicians and stage performancers throughout the cruise, had an on par experience with the onboard staff lessons and competitions provided in the activity. Didn't do much shopping to comment. Ship was mostly tidy and clean, staff members were prim and proper. Made a few friendly connections and had some memorable experience in the process.  I have documented down my intinary below: Day 1: Check in Teabreak at lvl winjammer Din...

Financial Advice (basic)

I used to believe that financial consultants offer financial advice well. But throughout my life experience, I realized that it is not nesscessary so.  Financial Advice does not nesscessary come from Financial Consultants. Especially young financial consultants in their 20s, who are still trying the grasp their sudden boost in paycheck. Unknowingly, they might develop bad financial habits themselves. Ironically.  (Disclaimer. I am not trying to blast down financial consultants with this post, so calm down. I only have the intention to educate about general financial advice)  I have come across enough forms of financial advices and even went for financial consultancy examinations before. I want to humbly say, I might be able to educate you on this subject of financial advice.  Seeking financial advice is what from my experience, generally a tough task. Personal finance is a very touchy subject. A few people are willing to declare their expenses and savings face to fac...

The magical self sustaining $1,000,000 Portfolio

If you are in your 20s, start investing as early as your first salary. Once you have a $1,000,000 portfolio, you're set for life. Why? Because even a low 7% capital growth leaves you with $70,000 extra cash to spend in a year's time after that $1,000,000 portfolio is complete. Regardless of your income, skills, knowledge or martial status, unless you have a huge necessary liability - you'd have to get that addressed first.  It might probably take 24 years if you're willing to sacrifice enough, it also depends on how disciplined of a person you are to constantly be saving at large to invest Let's address a possible problem that you might have (bear with me if you don't have that problem, but many do): Remember the days where you were in secondary school and your expenditure was just canteen food and drinks based on your allowance? Going to the everywhere else and getting whatsoever was free, because your parents paid for them as you get your allowance weekly or m...

Exotic woods, Phuket

It was a windy evening in Phuket, Thailand.  Biking alongside 2 friends, we went to the Big Buddha Statue for sightseeing. I took out my Mavic Drone to film the magnificently enormous sculpture.  15 minutes into the flight, multiple gusts of wind heading north took over the atmosphere. It then occurred to me, that forces of the wind is stronger than the forward thrusting power of the drone - the drone was being dragged into the opposite direction I was controlling, drifting another 400m up North.  The battery of the drone has drained down to 40%. In a desperate attempt to rescue the drone, I turned on "SPORTS" mode function and managed to overpower the the wind and head down south.  "Ahh, I saved my drone with quick thinking" or so I thought, never did I knew it was unfortunately it's final flight. The battery drained to 20% really fast and forced itself out of "SPORTS" mode to intelligently(also foolishly) save it's battery.  Within minutes, the d...
